Teo Cintli: Sacred Maiz - Story of the Continent

Instructors Patrisia Gonzales & Roberto Rodriguez

This class will perhaps be different than other classes you’ve taken. We assume you paz is the paintercome to class with knowledge, thus we expect you to share it in class. Part of the experience of the class is how knowledge is disseminated and shared. The class deals with issues of origins, ancient migrations, ancient foods and medicines of the Americas, indigenous knowledge, identity formation and of connectedness between North, Central and South America. Little of what we know on the topics was learned inside of a classroom, thus, a good portion of the class will be spent out of class and outdoors. The class will also be project oriented as each student will be asked to research maps, foods and partake in poetry or storytelling.
